Within a few months, they made the version 5.5 Software Upgrade public which added support for video playback on the iPod 5G.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I think the iPod market transformed the company completely. Apple&#039;s become a consumer electronics company. They may not call it a netbook because they wont be competing in that market, but the devices that use those 10&quot; multitouch screens they&#039;ve just ordered might be products that people are ready to buy even when they have cheaper alternatives like the netbook available. I wonder how they&#039;ll adapt Mac OS X so that it works with these new devices. They could use the iPhone OS but they might have to maintain a separate app store.&lt;/p&gt;
